History. 1876 — the first A.G. Spalding & Brothers sporting-goods store opened in Chicago

On Spalding's US site, basketball hoop backboards, poles, bases, rims and accompanying hardware carry a one-year limited warranty against material and workmanship defects for the original purchaser from an authorized seller, for personal use. Other products, institutional use and other markets have separate terms.
