01 / Story

One tool category, developed deeply.

C. Gustav Putsch founded a small forge for pliers in Cronenberg. KNIPEX stayed focused on pliers and related tools, concentrating development, forging, machining, hardening and assembly at its Wuppertal site.

1882
The forge begins with one journeyman and two apprentices.
1942
Carl Putsch takes over and industrialises production.
Today
Wuppertal remains the central manufacturing campus.
